Sports Lab 2022

April 2 - July 10

What Can QGNC Youth Expect?

Youth will engage in our free Sports Lab where they’ll have the opportunity to connect with their mentors and peers through the power of sport. Youth will receive supplies for all activities including sports equipment. Sports Lab is a four month program experience.

LGBTQ+ Youth Sports Clinics

Partnering with the West Hollywood Soccer Club, West Hollywood Dodgeball League, the Dodgers Foundation, the Greater Los Angeles Softball League (GLASA), and Peace Players, we’ll host a series of LGBTQ+ friendly youth sports clinics. Each clinic will offer a rotation of different sports including soccer, dodgeball, softball, basketball. All the rotations will be staffed by LGBTQ+ adult coaches and Rainbow Labs staff. Youth do not need prior sports experience.

Clinic information follows:

  • Dates: Saturday April 2nd, Saturday April 9th, and Saturday April 16th

  • Times: Every Saturday from 9 AM - 12 PM

  • Location: Salazar Park, 3864 Whittier Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90023

  • Ages: 9 - 18 years old

LGBTQ+ Youth Softball Team

In partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation through their Dodgers DreamTeam Program, youth will participate in a four-month softball program (April 18 - July 10) with their coach mentors. How do you play softball? How can both the physical and mental benefits of sports support me? Who are sports leaders in LGBTQ+ community? Youth do not need prior experience in softball to participate. All youth will gain both sports and life skills through this program. We end this lab with a celebration jam where both coach mentors and youth will have the opportunity to celebrate their season’s successes. Team location at Salazar Park in East Los Angeles.
