Storytelling Lab 2022

February 26 - April 9

Everyone has a story worth telling no matter who you are.

Storytelling Lab is a free 6 week mentoring program for Queer and Gender Nonconforming (QGNC) youth (ages 13-17) in Los Angeles. 20 QGNC Youth will be paired with 7 QGNC Mentors for six weeks of fun filled activities that inspire youth to be bold, discover their true selves, create supportive relationships, and take risks.

Twice a week, youth will meet in their teams with their mentors virtually. We’ll also host three in-person (COVID safe) events for youth and mentors to engage in. By the end of the six weeks youth will build an extensive network of QGNC peers and QGNC adults and perform in a story slam event.

Sports Lab 2022

April 2 - July 10

Sports should be a safe and supportive place for everyone.

Sports Lab is a free five month mentoring program for Queer and Gender Nonconforming (QGNC) youth (ages 11-18) in Los Angeles. We’ll kick off this lab with a series of LGBTQ+ youth friendly sports clinics in East Los Angeles. In partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, we will host two softball teams in East Los Angeles with 12 youth on each team (24 total youth) paired with 6 QGNC Coach-Mentors for four months. Activities will energize youth, create a safe and fun sports experience, and form supportive relationships.

Twice a week, youth will meet in their teams with their mentors in person. Teams will practice one day and have game day for the other . We’ll also host monthly in-person (COVID safe) events for youth and mentors to engage in. By the end of the four months youth will build an extensive network of QGNC peers and QGNC adults.
